Our camps are designed to provide a similar experience to our Saturday Solo Butterfly Program, offering children the opportunity to learn Mandarin in both structured and unstructured environments. During structured circle story time, children will engage in language learning, while unstructured free play allows for social interaction and exploration.

The focus of our camps is on fostering children's social well-being and peer relationships, all while introducing them to the local flora and fauna. Each day will be filled with activities such as hiking, conversations, creative play, drawing, and writing. We will immerse ourselves in nature, exploring diverse environments including creeks, ponds, meadows, forests, and beaches.

• Mentor and Counselor: 

*Kids Only Camp: These camps will be led by Teacher Nancy and Counselor Cindy. Most activities will be conducted in Mandarin, while Counselor Cindy will provide support in both Mandarin and English as needed to ensure clear communication. 

*Parents Escorted Camp: Parents will participate with their kids for the whole time during the camps led by Teacher Nancy. 

*Parents Coop Camp:  Parents will take turns joining in as a stay-day parent (Mama Teacher). This Stay-Day participation role is an assisting position to the mentor. It is a chance for parents to witness the bold and exciting learning journey of their own children, and the rest of the class!  It is also an opportunity for children to explore the nature without parents, focusing on language learning, independence, nature awareness and social emotional well beings.  

• Campers: 4-9 yrs old who love spending time in nature. We kindly ask that you ensure your child is comfortable with a Mandarin-immersive environment before completing the registration process.

• Location: Drop-off and pick-up will take place at local preserves within a 15-25 minute radius of Downtown Menlo Park. Each week, we plan to visit 4-5 different locations, providing a diverse and enriching experience for the campers.

• Ratios: Each week is limited to a maximum of 12 campers.

• Discounts:  1. Early Registration Discount: 10% for returning campers. To qualify, registration must be completed within the specified timeframe. 2. Sibling Discount: 10% for families registering a second child. The discount applies to the second child’s registration when the first child is also enrolled. 3. Referral Discount for New Families: 5% for new families referred by a current club member. Both the referred child and the referring family will receive a 5% discount.

• Cancellation and Refund Policy:  1. More than 4 weeks in advance: A non-refundable deposit of $100. 2. 2-4 weeks in advance: A 50% refund for cancellations. 3. Within 2 weeks of start date: No refunds, transfers, or changes allowed.4. Missed days: No refunds, credits, or make-up days offered.
